Fruita, CO

We finally made it to Colorado to visit the Dares (it took us long enough - 2 years? 3 years?). Anyway, we had an absolute blast with the Dares (why wouldn't we?).

We played the Wii ...

We went to a farmer's market and saw a fire engine for an airport ...

Cameron lost a tooth ...

We went to the local reservoir and played on the beach ...

We also went to the mountains and watched a movie at a volunteer fire station. It was sooo much fun!! Thanks, Dares, for putting up with us. We'll definitely be back next year!

Four Corners

We recently took a trip to Colorado. Our kids decided it was in the Strader's best interest to stop by Four Corners. It was a miserable drive, but well worth the stop. Yipee.

If you ever decide to visit (which we recommend you do at some point in your life), take cash. The Bureau of Land Management charges admission and they don't take plastic. Grrrrrrrr!!

22 Aug. 2011 Mom: "Does everyone have clean clothes for school tomorow?" Brittney: "No." Mom: "How dirty is it?" Brittney: "Sweaty-in-the-crouch dirty."
David was "helping" Brittney match all of our shoes. David comes up to Riley and says, "Match match!" Riley says, "Match." David got frustrated that Riley wasn't saying what he was saying, but then David says,"Match.........MATCH!!!" Riley finally says, "Match match." David, "NO!!!" And we all look at each other thinking that he said it right, but then David says embarrassingly, "Yes."
Dani was lying down on the floor, David climbs up on her, and says, "Guess what...I'm on you! Hahaha!!"
Cameron comes up to Riley with a Nerf gun without a bullet, cocks it, aims it at Riley, and shoots. Riley pretends to die. Cameron sits there for a minute and says, "Liley....NOO!!!!!!" Thinking he really did die.
David, coming up to Dani, "CRUNCH!! I ate you hahaha!!!
David, while playing Mario Bros, said, "AAHH!!!! Run for my life!!"
David walked into the room and Riley and Dani were sitting on the couch. David says with a straight face, "Hey guys, I'm gonna shoot you, guys." Lifts up his finger and says, "BFFFF!!!!!"
Dani: "Are you a dog?" David: "No, I'm a guy!" Dani: "Are you a Dolly?" David: "No, I'm a human!!"
Dani, Riley, and Brittney were on a road trip and Brittney and Riley were playing a game in the back seat. "Bob, your 'sir' is ready, thank you 'room'." They thought they were hilarious that they mixed up the words!
We were at taylor junior high because during the summer they served breakfast and david needed to go to the bathroom. So as a big sister, Dani, she goes and takes him. Dani thought that we could go into the bigger stall, but he says,"Small stalls are for small boys. Hahahahahahaha!!!!!"
19 Jul 2009: Christine updated all of the kids clothes (from 18-24 mos to 2T-3T, etc.) Cameron has this really nice Sunday outfit and Riley said he looked like a really nice "workman." Christine asked for clarification and he said, "He looks like a CEO -- you know, Cheap Executive Officer."
Jan 2009: We bought a cow for meat about 6 months ago. The other day we went to visit the cow at the pasture. Riley and Brittney were ready to pet the cow as it approached us near the fence. As the cow approached, Riley said, "Mmmm, those ribs look delicious!"
20 Dec 2008: Riley has longer hair on top now and has been tasked with "doing" his hair or we'll shave it off. He asked Mom, "Can I have the hairspray stick?" We determined later that the hairspray stick was the hairspray bottle with hairspray ... that sticks. :-)
21 Dec 2008: Brittney and Riley were playing in the bedroom and Brittney shouted, "Riley! Let's build something! Let's build a man!"
